Dr. Sukhjivan Chattha
General Dentist (Limited to Oral Surgery)
Hi, my name is Dr. Chattha, and I am a Dentist at Bruce Grey Dental Centre. I was born and raised in downtown Toronto. Growing up, I dreamt of wanting to be Superman and a Toronto Blue Jay, but as I grew older, I realized I had to pivot to bigger dreams. Although I led his high school baseball team in home runs and RBIs, I was interested in using my hands to help others directly. And so, I did my bachelor's at the University of Waterloo and then Doctor in Dental Surgery at the University of Toronto.
After becoming a dentist, I completed more training by completing a hospital dental residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, learning directly from the late Dr. Gerald Baker and then a 1-year oral surgery fellowship at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, NY. Upon completion, I worked in Boston, the Canadian North (Yukon and NWT) and various First Nations communities (i.e.- Attawapiskat, Moose Factory) before returning to Ontario to work on staff at Princess Margaret Hospital (Toronto) in dental oncology. After a few years of hospital dentistry, I fully transitioned to private practice, where he works as a general dentist servicing many clinics in the GTA doing complicated extractions, including wisdom teeth with IV sedation.
Over the past few years, my family and I have lived part-time in Grey Bruce County and have fallen in love with the area. Aside from work, you can find me busy playing/swimming with my kids in the Georgian Bay or having a vegan bite to eat.
